Do I just have to let the vang handle fly on its own, or can I tie it to
something on the boat? >>
"the tail of the boomvang may be tied anywhere on the boat except it shall
not be tied to another line."
A. Is the handle a line??
B. Is Shock cord line for this rule??
My answers:
B. The Centerboard Shockcord is listed under sheets and other Lines. You
cannot tie to it.
A. The Handle is not listed under Lines but I have a hard time calling the
centerboard a "part of the boat." It is also called a "rope" and it is
splitting hairs to say a rope is not a line.
I ant to pass on this until I hear form the International Measurer.
