I've got brochures from Vanguard here on my desk for the Laser*Pico, and
Laser*Cat. Vanguard also build Laser2's - a 20-year old design and the first
Laser name rip-off. I have mixed feelings about that one, having owned one
myself and loved it. But it still wasn't a Laser. Laser2's do shelter under
the umbrella of the Laser Class Assn. but they operate independently to a
great extent.
Have a look at the Vanguard website www
.teamvanguard.com On there I noticed Pico listed without the "Laser" on
their side banner, but when you go to the Pico page, it's still called "Laser
Pico". Wonder if they're easing up on the "Laser.boat" mania. Hope so!
They certainly haven't gone as far as PSE in England, abusing the Laser name,
I'll admit. Admirable restraint, I guess.
