Your point about showing the picture full screen and it being distorted is
the point we are try to get across ..there are a lots of pictures out there
that look great at about 320x120 resolution but try that on a screen
1024x768 and it looks like crap at full screen .. ;-) so we want good
picture that still look good at 800x600 or above ...
I'll stop raving on about pictures and screen sizes now 'cause this is a
Laser discussion alias .. ;-)
cheers
Stu...

Maybe I'm missing something here with all this complaining about lack of
wallpaper photos of the correct size, etc. With Windows 98, all you need to
do is store a bitmap in the correct folder to avoid having to load the
dreaded 'windows active desktop' (folder named "Wallpaper" I think). The
file name then comes up on your list of wallpaper choices on a pick list
under Control Panel--Display. You can then choose to center the image, tile
the image, or show the image fullscreen. The third choice fills your
screen, while it may slightly distort the aspect ratio of the photo
somewhat.
Further, anyone can go to anyones web site, right click on any image, choose
COPY IMAGE AS from the menu, and the picture will download. Simple.
There shouldn't be a problem with this wallpaper business. What am I
missing here?
