Greetings,
Not appreciating the 4 November 1999 posting on the Laser NA Mailing
List that some Laser owners do not become ILCA members because all the
information is freely available on the Web, drLaser has decided to
password protect some of the articles in that web site to be
accessible by ILCA MEMBERS ONLY. This is effective 30 December 1999,
5:00 PM EST. (URL for web site is below my sigature.)
The "Laser FAQ2", and "Laser Artistry" and
"Rebecca's Corner" sections stay "public" in
their entirety.
In all other sections of the web site, all
documents that cater to:
- beginning sailors or new owners
- sailors from other Classes
- fleet administrators
- race managers
- regatta organizers, and
- dealers and merchandisers
are also left in the public domain.
Articles published by other sites but linked
from drLaser are also (mostly) left as
"public". Finally, some good drLaser articles
are left as "teasers" or as samples of the
additional benefits a non-member will get
when they join ILCA.
Until further notice, all future additions to the drLaser site will be
left as public or be password-protected based on the criteria above.
In total, 64 drLaser documents in various sections of the site are
password-protected. These articles are identified by an "ILCA" icon in
the text menus, and by a "star" (*) in the JavaScript pull-down menus.
Procedures for accessing the password-protected sections are provided:
- for ILCA-members, at "available to ILCA members only" links,
- for non-ILCA-members, at
www.laserinternational.org/conform.htm
Basically, if you are an ILCA member, the username and password are the
same as those published in the LaserWorld.
THIS IS A MASSIVE CHANGE IN THE SITE. PLEASE INFORM drLaser OF ANY
ERRORS YOU ENCOUNTER.
