I find it rather interesting that Mark Mendelblatt was placed in with such
demi-gods as Scheit and Ainslie. Yet, i feel that it is rather fitting.
Even though i do not feel that he is the best currently, he has been sailing
extremely well on the foriegn ciruit, often finishing up there with the above
mentioned. This also refects on how the laser class over here is catching
up-in a sense-with the elite, and this is very encouraging for your guys like
me to know that I have the opportunity to compete against a world class
sailor should I choose to attend a major US regatta; an option i might not
have had in many previous years.
So, I think that Ainslie is the best, but commend Mendleblatt the most for
his hard work and outstanding results.
