centerboards that break all the time

here is my personal grunge and thing that needs to be updated on the laser:

the centerboard

twice in three years i have punched a hole in the trailing edge trying to do a dry flip with my foot. my buddy sliced his knee open when he did it by mistake. i suggest that the centerboards be made with an aluminum rod about 3/4 in from the trailing edge so that each wouldn't break because of "imperfections" that so many seem to have. it would save $ and trips to the sailing store. i don't think it would be too expensive, and it would in no way make old lasers obselete.

any comments?
