Life is too short for the scarlet rhetoric about board painting, tricked-out
lasers, 3 mm tolerances, who's in charge of the list, etc. Laser sailors
are an independently-minded lot, and with over 700 subscribers to this list,
don't expect everyone to be like you, or agree with you on anything. Just
accept the opinions of others for what they are: opinions.
It may be asking too much for civility on this list, but then, over time,
I've seen the vast majority of posters to his list be able to discuss
Laser-sailing issues without resorting to name calling and insults. Stick
to the sailing issues. For those of you that feel compelled to flame
others, just remember that you do more to discredit yourself, than support
your arguments.
Personally, I'm tired of people accusing others of being "cheaters" over
largely philosophical issues. That's a pretty strong accusation and, IMHO,
should not be used lightly on this list, or on the race course. Go sailing.
Have fun. Lighten up.
