If you scratch your new blade taking it out of the box, you are allowed to
sand the scratch out, and you will immediately have a smoother finish
because the blades COME with orange peel etc. >>

Aren't we missing the point here? Why do we put up with a sub-standard
finish to blades.  I took one look at the blades on my new boat (it says
Made in England and came with a Vanguard boat) and immediately put them
away.  They were no comparison to my old 1982 blades that I had refinished
(because the old paint was cracking).

For the price we should get a top quality finish, not the orange peel finish
that came on my new blade.
