I said the old blade OUGHT to be illegal. It certainly does not meet the
intent of the class goals.

mast in an old boat? How about my buying a new sail for my '78 laser because
it will be MUCH faster than my old sail? >>
I cannot believe that this is a serious question posed with the intent of
helping the game.

allow no improvements such as balancing, we can still go to the parts bin
and weigh each connecting rod so that we get a perfectly matched set. this
negates the need for balancing and all of the parts are stock. This is a
legal activity. Some stock parts are just better than others.>>>
It is exactly my point to make you and others understand that we absolutely
do not want every Laser sailor to accumulate a set of special parts for every
condition.
I cannot point to a rule.
I cannot throw you out for assembling the Ultimate Laser.
I can tell you that you are missing the entire point of the boat.
We want you to be able to grab a boat from the store and go sail it in the
Nationals.
The laser is not a $20,000 boat when it races because we do not "Blueprint"
pour boats.
